Bhajani ….and a lot more!

Guys.. weekend is already here. I keep my weekends free from all mundane chores. Weekends are meant to be kept free. It is the time to rejoice, bond and celebrate with our family! It also means some “me time” too! I love to play a few rounds of chess with my son. We do gardening and cook simple dishes and share crazy laughs. I also binge watch Netflix and read novels uninterrupted for hours. These are the only days I get to read newspaper at leisure.

Hence, on these days time is of essence, thereby making one pot meals as the best suited options. But, let us not restrict ourselves to rice items which can get monotonous at times. Today I had kept my meal simple, traditional and not to mention healthy. “Bhajani thalipeeth”. Basically, bhajani is a mix of dry roasted grains. A few ingredients may be additional. But the basic ones are chana dal, urad daal, moong daal, rice, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, etc. All the grains are painstakingly dry roasted till they are aromatic and are then powdered to make fragrant mixture. I had used flour (bhajani thalipeeth) from Dhanashree Gruh Udyog. As soon as opened the pack, the tantalizing aroma that filled the room.

Hot food tastes better and is often known to elicit positive feedback. The sizzling sound and waft of cooking thalipeeth is mouth watering! I served the hot, perfectly cooked, golden-yellow circles of happiness with home-made butter (loni), dahi and sauce. They were soft yet crunchy, played well with all the taste buds. They were gorged on in no time. Pair this happiness with minimum preparations and the ease of cooking to enhance the beauty of the item further!

Last and not the least, I will always remain indebted to Dhanashree Gruh Udyog. She has always been a true friend. The vast range of ready to cook food products makes it easy to cook tasty meals in no time. Meaning – easy to cook. Lots of free time. Lots of praises. Happy family. Satisfied me!

How do you enjoy your weekends? Share your ideas of bonding. And staying connected!
